The design for this 200-tonne winemaking facility and restaurant was inspired by the traditional shed buildings of rural Australia and specifically the Mornington Peninsula. Two simple ‘super’ sheds, linked by a contemporary asymmetrical canopy, have been designed to house the renewed restaurant and winemaking area.

Our client has longstanding ties with the development of the region’s winemaking, and is committed to making this history accessible to visitors. In addition to the restaurant and wine making, a purpose built cellar door doubles as a gallery area to highlight the many phases of development of wine making on the Mornington Peninsula.
