Working with Seidler's geometry
Capturing a panoramic view of Sydney’s city skyline, this apartment nods gently to the geometry and rhythm of the original architecture of Harry Seidler’s renowned Horizon building. This was achieved through articulated volume, spatial arrangement and rich materiality. Inside, a manipulation of texture and colour tempers unfiltered light during the day and considered lighting strategies create drama at night.
In contrast to the typical white palette of Sydney interiors, the emphasis of this project was to create a dark and sexy apartment that provided a contrast to the bright light outside.
The Horzion Apartment was designed by MAA in collaboration with Maria Danos Architecture.
