Urban design and activity
Delivered in two stages, Luxe took advantage of the area’s mixed use zoning to create a building with a 24-hour cycle of activity. This provides opportunities for activation and gives the residence a sense of energy. The ground floor restaurant and bar, and the shared roof top garden above the car park, add to this sense of community.
Luxe retains the aesthetic of the site’s existing industrial 1950s warehouse, with its rational, expressed structural grid and simple finishes. The layering of new elements, with robust materials and detailing, respects the original fabric while also signifying a change of use.
